When it earns a place in your kit
For removable shelf supports. Decide whether you need just the planned shelf positions or a repeated adjustment grid before drilling.
What to check before choosing
- Match the guide and bit to the exact support-stud diameter.
- Check the jig’s front setback, indexing pitch and ability to mirror the second side.
A practical setup sequence
Label each side’s inside face, front and bottom. Choose a single bottom datum for both sides.
Set depth using the jig’s procedure and matching scrap. Clamp or secure the jig as its instructions require.
Index from the same datum on both panels. Test all four supports and a shelf before adding optional adjustment rows.
A common mistake to avoid
Starting one row from the top and the other from the bottom can put the supports at different heights.
