FROM DIMENSIONS TO THE WORKSHOP

Plan Studio

Your next build, one clear step at a time. Choose a shape, size it to your space, and create a printable plan.

Free, browser-based planning. Your draft stays on this device; download a project file to keep a backup. No account or upload needed.

Choose your starting point

Start with a simple shape

Choose a starting shape, then make it yours. This is a panel plan; connections and hardware need your own specification.

Your dimensions

Measure the space and your actual material. The drawing updates as you go.

Shelves, back & stock allowances

Overall depth includes an overlay back. Stock thickness starts at the finished thickness; edit it in Parts if you need milling allowance. Stock extras do not include kerf or guarantee usable yield.

Valid dimensions update automatically until you customize parts. Applying new dimensions after customization regenerates the parts.

Construction assumptions & checks

Review loads, connections, shelf supports, movement and anti-tip anchorage for the actual installation. No hardware, doors or validated load rating is generated.

    FINISHED SIZES AND STOCK, SEPARATELY

    Your parts

Expand a part group to edit dimensions, material, count or notes. Length follows the main grain direction in the generated notes. Finished and stock sizes use the plan’s dimension units.

Creates a separate build with these parts and construction notes. Existing builds are preserved. Buying quantities and supplier quotes still need to be specified.

    TAKE IT TO THE WORKSHOP

    Print & export

    Paper, scale & printer settings

The plan pack includes front and side drawings, finished/stock parts, notes and assumptions. Custom paper sizes are entered in portrait order; Landscape swaps width and height. A requested scale that will not fit is rejected.

Print PDF pages at 100% / Actual size, not Fit to page. Measure the 50 mm calibration ruler. Inch fractions are display rounding, not machining tolerances.

Drawing exports — SVG, PNG & DXF

Exports use the selected drawing view above. SVG has physical millimeter dimensions; PNG is a reference image, not a calibrated print. DXF exports 1:1 millimeter LINE/CIRCLE outlines only, without dimensions, joints, offsets or toolpaths. Check the import units in your CAD/CAM software.

Save or reopen a project file

A project file preserves dimensions, part edits, print settings and the hole-spacing template. Clearing browser data removes the local draft.

Optional: full-size part & hole templates

FULL SIZE ON YOUR HOME PRINTER

    Tiled templates

Print the selected part’s finished face outline or a custom hole-spacing strip across multiple pages. The PDF adds overlap, matching registration crosses, row/column labels and a calibration ruler. These are reference templates; verify scale and the design before use.

Spacing is center-to-center along the strip’s length. Holes lie on the width centerline. This does not select hardware, drill depth, pilot size or a shelf-pin system.

    1. Use the same paper, orientation and margins selected above.
    2. Print at 100% and measure the calibration ruler before assembling.
    3. Trim only as needed, overlap duplicated areas, and match the registration crosses.
    4. Confirm the final dimensions physically before transferring marks or cutting.

Up to 60 template pages per export. Part outlines show the face only; thickness, joints and drilling locations are not inferred. Basic Latin text is used in PDF labels; SVG/PNG preserve other characters.

Geometry and exports are generated locally. Read our editorial approach and planning guides.
