When it earns a place in your kit

For shelves intended to lift out. Supports, panel holes, shelf clearance and the case itself must work together.

What to check before choosing

  • Match stud diameter, insertion length and panel thickness.
  • Check the bearing shape and manufacturer’s load information for the intended installation.

A practical setup sequence

  1. Measure the part that enters the panel separately from the part that supports the shelf.

  2. Use the plan’s bearing offset when locating the hole center. For shaped supports, measure that offset instead of assuming a pin radius.

  3. Seat four matching supports, set the shelf in place, and check level, side clearance and secure bearing before loading.

A common mistake to avoid

Changing from a round pin to an L-shaped support can change the shelf height even in the same hole.
